Do you love Italian food? Then look no further. This charming little restaurant is a two-minute walk from the hotel and has all you need to please your craving for Italian. DaVinci Bar &amp; Ristorante is cozy and relaxed, and the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring the city. 



Both the pizza and pasta is delicious, so it&#8217;s difficult to recommend a favorite &#8211; but the carbonara is really something else. Of course you can combine it with a glass of Italian wine if you&#8217;re in the mood!

Our local taco heaven, Seksico Tacos, offers a 10% discount for all Citybox guests! The menu includes delicious tacos, quesadillas, and other Mexican-style food with a bit of Finnish touch. A short walk from the hotel you will find this charming restaurant on the 2nd floor of Hakaniemi Market Hall. You can order by the bar and watch as they prepare all the lovely dishes. Inspired by the food stalls in the 1st floor, you&#8217;ll get the very best of Helsinki food. 



We would recommend this as both a lunch and dinner place &#8211; depending on what you are in the mood for! 



When you are done with your meal we recommend that you take a look around the Market Hall to discover all the treasures!

This newly renovated market hall offers products from local vendors and authentic Finnish flavors. 



So what should you to try? Finns love our rye bread, fish, pastries, and anything with berries. For the braver palate, we recommend reindeer meat or blood sausage. In addition to vendor stalls, there are a couple of restaurants.

Helsinki Bryggeri Brewhouse is a restaurant and brewhouse that offers both international flavors and traditional Finnish dishes. Their beers are brewed on the premises, and the wide selection offers a delightful experience for everyone. Beers are also sold in 1dl sizes &#8211; optimal for beer tasting.



The restaurant is located between Helsinki Market square and Senaatintori &#8211; dare we say one of the most centrally located breweries in the world?

Just a small tram-ride away you&#8217;ll find the super cozy La Torrefazione. The atmosphere welcomes you straight away, as well as the smiles of the staff that works there. It&#8217;s the perfect place for a breakfast, lunch or even brunch &#8211; and they really know their coffees! If you&#8217;re looking for a remote place to work, this little spot is highly recommended. 



They offer a variety of food including salads, sandwiches and some warm dishes. If you&#8217;re craving something sweet they also have a lot of tasty pastries to explore. We recommend one of their sandwiches (either Avocado or Chevre) combined with a fresh smoothie or coffee.

La Torrefazione

The ever-lively Juttutupa is one of the oldest restaurants in Helsinki. Its roots stretch back all the way to the year 1884. This pub-like bar and restaurant has hosted a variety of guests. For example, take a seat where Vladimir Lenin sat &#8211; called the &#8220;revolution table&#8221;. 



Open for lunch and dinner Monday &#8211; Saturday.

Did you know that &#8220;kuusi palaa&#8221; has nine different translations? Including &#8220;six pieces&#8221; and &#8220;the pine tree is one fire&#8221; &#8211; talk about a complex language! This restaurant offers Finnish flavors with a modern twist. Kuusi Palaa advocates pure Finnish ingredients and dining together &#8211; definitely worth the visit while you are visiting Helsinki!

Nolla is a restaurant where quality food and sustainable development go hand-in-hand. All the ingredients are sources from local farmers, fishermen and producers. We recommend the tasting menu!



This restaurant is also a great alternative if you are vegetarian or vegan, all meals are available upon request.

This cafe chain is unique as it combines a vegetarian-emphasized kitchen with a secondhand thrift shop. But don&#8217;t be fooled by the word thrift shop; a lot of the garments are famous brands and good quality! And the best part is that Relove can be found in multiple locations in Helsinki.

When you visit Helsinki, we recommend you visit Savotta. This is as traditional as it gets &#8211; these dishes and interiors bring you back to a simpler time in the countryside. Ask for a table by the window facing the cathedral. Honestly, one of the most romantic settings when it&#8217;s dark and snowing.

The Bull &amp; The Firm is an almost speak easy-looking entrance that opens up to a relaxed vibe and a kitchen offering exquisite foods made with seasonal ingredients. For the complete experience, pair your dishes with a wide selection of natural wines.

Restaurant Oiva has been a classic restaurant in Helsinki, in the heart of Kallio, since 1940. Restaurant Oiva modernly respects the old Helsinki restaurant culture and offers a buffet lunch on weekdays, a classic -à la carte menu, and weekend brunch.  Oiva’s brunch has been voted the best in Finland several times. Oiva has a weekly program, such as music quizzes, bingo, and live music. Karaoke is sung on Friday and Saturday evenings. They have a wide selection of beers and an excellent wine list. 



The restaurant is located right across the street from Citybox Helsinki, with a relaxed atmosphere from morning to night.

If you are into Asian street food, this is the place for you! Momotoko can be found in several places in Helsinki and is the perfect spot if you are in the mood for ramen. Everything from their ramen noodle soups to rice bowls and bao buns takes you on a culinary, yet affordable, journey. This place can&#8217;t be missed when visiting Helsinki!

What exactly can you do with a library card? At Oodi, you can use it, for example, for 3-D printing, recording music, playing games with VR glasses, and obviously, borrowing books. Oodi represents the modern library under an architecturally fascinating building.



It is a venue for events, a house of reading and gives you a real, diverse and urban experience.

I&#8217;m sure Tripadvisor has already given you the details on what this Fortress Island offers since it&#8217;s usually the #1 &#8220;thing to do in Helsinki.&#8221; However, want to hear a little secret they don&#8217;t disclose to tourists? 



The island also functions as an open prison. (This is the point where you think we&#8217;re joking, but we&#8217;re not). There are prisoners on the island who work during the day, then are mandated to return to their quarters for the night. This is one of the forms of slowly re-integrating prisoners back into society. So most likely, you will be walking amongst convicted criminals during your stroll. Now that&#8217;s something different, right?

Suomenlinna Fortress Island

For an outdoor experience, why not stroll around our biggest open-air museum? 



This museum island, Seurasaari, holds old Finnish houses and displays some of our old farm life history. As children, we used to feed nuts to the squirrels. I don&#8217;t know if that&#8217;s allowed anymore &#8211; but if it is, take a few almonds in your pocket to see if you can get a squirrel to eat out of your hand. 



Also, the bridge over to the island is iconic to us Helsinki-ers. A selfie upon each visit is a must!

Seurasaari

This museum showcases the life and accomplishments of Baron Gustaf Mannerheim. He was, inarguably, one of the most influential figures in our country&#8217;s history. He was an explorer, military man, politician, and humanitarian.



The museum visits always includes a guided tour that gives the visitors new perspectives. From every exhibition the museum aims to leave a permanent mark, through traditional publications. So if you are a sucker for history, the Mannerheim Museum is definitely for you!

Ateneum Museum is Finland&#8217;s most renowned art museum. Their permanent collection consists of some international but mostly Finnish art from the 18th century up until Modernism. Artists like Schjerfbeck, Gallen-Kallela, and Edelfelt are names every Finn has grown up with.



If you are an art-geek, you can be sure to find your place here. And if you are not, you are guaranteed to leave more inspired than you were when you came!

For a sauna experience close by, this old public sauna is part of the neighbourhood&#8217;s history. Back in the day, not all houses had saunas (or even showers), so people would bathe in public saunas. 



If you go Thursday or Saturday, you can even book a time with a &#8220;washer&#8221; lady who will scrub you clean. Culture shock warning &#8211; Finns traditionally sauna naked. There will also be naked men (in towels, of course, we&#8217;re not barbarians) outside on the street.

Finns LOVE to sauna, and we mean LOVE. Want to try it out? Löyly offers both the traditional wood sauna and a smoke sauna to try out our most beloved tradition. Enjoy the burning heat, then cool off with a beverage on the terrace, rinse, and repeat.



This place is truly unique, and it is also less than two kilometers away from the city centre. This is definitely the perfect way to start your day.

Löyly

Amos Rex is a quirky little museum that brings history, the present, and the future together in its immersive installations. A visit here may require planning &#8211; some exhibitions have sold out quickly in the past, so you may need to book tickets in advance.



If you have children, it is worth to note that everyone under 18 years visits Amos Rex for free. So bring your family and spend a day exploring this fantastic museum.

Want to see the city of Helsinki in a different way? SpåraKOFF is a one-of-a-kind tram that has been converted into a bar and drives around the city centre. We do not accept American Express as a payment option, but we do accept it as a guarantee on our website. 



Cash payment is accepted across all of our hotels (except for Citybox Helsinki), but you need a valid credit or debit card as a guarantee. This card doesn&#8217;t get charged (unless something unexpected happens); It&#8217;s primarily intended for security reasons.

Which payment options do you accept?

Yes! Our luggage storage is open for all guests before check-in and after check-out. Just ask our hosts at the hotel, and they will help you out!

Can I store my luggage at the hotel?

Pets are always welcome at our hotel for an extra 15 EUR / night. Contact us before your stay and we will get you sorted. Only one dog / cat per room.&nbsp;

Can I bring my pet? 

Yes! Finland has some of the world’s cleanest tap water – enjoy!&nbsp;&nbsp;

Can I drink the tap water? 

If you need to wash your clothes, there is a self-service laundromat located on the same level as the lobby, next to the guest kitchen. Washing detergent is included in the price, card payments only.

Do you have a laundry room? 

TVs can be found in the common room on the ground floor, alongside books, board games, and activities such as darts and table tennis. We do have free (and fast) Wi-Fi so you can stream Netflix in your room on your laptop or iPad!

Does my room have a TV?

We have free Wi-Fi for all our guests; no secret codes or passwords are required! Just connect and surf away.

Does your hotel have Wi-Fi?

After you book your stay, you will receive a booking confirmation, including a booking number. When you check in, type in your booking number on our check-in terminal, make your payment, and you will receive your key card and room number.



When checking out, type in your room number, and leave your key card in the box next to the terminal.

How do I check in and out?

In the common areas we offer recycling bins for plastic, bottles, cardboard, bio waste and mixed waste. We aim to recycle as much as possible.

How do I recycle?  

If you’re in the mood for breakfast or a light snack, we recommend our partner cafe UG Hakaniemi, conveniently located on our ground floor. Craving some pastries? Then we recommend Kanniston Leipomo. Other breakfast sets can be found at Patisserie Teemu Aura.&nbsp;

Is breakfast included? 

First off, we are super happy that you’d like to book a stay with us! Unfortunately, you must be over 18 years old to check into Citybox without adult supervision. But don’t worry; we’ll be here waiting for you!

How old do I have to be to stay with you?

We may be budget-friendly, but we don’t skimp on the essentials! Leave your towels and sheets at home; we’ve got you covered.

Should I bring my own sheets? 

At Citybox Hotels, we believe in making sure you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. That’s why all our rooms are equipped with a comfy bed, a desk and chair, and a modern bathroom with soap, shampoo, and a hairdryer. Some of the rooms also have a small seating area for you to kick back and relax and make yourself at home.

What does my room include?

You can view all public transportation options from <a href="http://www.hsl.fi/en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hsl.fi/en</a> 



The simplest way from and to the airport is bus number 600 and from the West Harbour trams number 7 &amp; 9. We recommend taking sustainable choices like bus or tram over a taxi. Cheaper and better for the environment!

What transportation is there to the hotel?  

They are amazing, right? We get our beds from <a href="http://www.hildinganders.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">www.hildinganders.com</a> which usually only delivers to hotels. However, they carry different brands, and the Jensen bed would be equivalent to the beds we have at the hotel.

Where are the beds from?

Arena Center Hakaniemi offers parking for 35 EUR / 24h, entrance via Miina Sillanpään katu 6. Payment via EasyPark app.&nbsp;

Where can I park my car? 

Of course! Extra towels, a water kettle, and extra pillows are available in our Citybox Host Office on the ground floor.
